Rules & what you need
Netherlands · Netherlands Gambling Authority (Ksa)
- In a casino or arcade you take a basic addiction-prevention course; with player contact also an additional course. Repeat every 3 years, and again with a new employer.
- This also applies to temporary staff and freelancers.
- Employers usually ask for a certificate of conduct (VOG).
- Hospitality with alcohol: a manager needs a Social Hygiene certificate.
- At Pokermon events guests play with chips without cash value; no gambling licence is needed there.

Questions about working in casinos and at events
Do I need experience to become a croupier or dealer?
No. For events we train you ourselves. For casinos and arcades you follow the employer's training and the country's legal courses.
What is the difference between working at an event and in a casino?
At Pokermon events play is with chips without cash value, so no gambling licence is needed. In a casino or arcade the regulator's rules apply, such as courses (NL) or a licence D (BE).
How does the sign-on bonus work?
If a vacancy shows a sign-on bonus, you receive it when you are hired via Pokermon and meet that vacancy's conditions, for example a minimum period of employment.
Can I also work abroad?
Yes. Through our partners we recruit for casinos and poker festivals in Europe and beyond. We help with licences, documents and often accommodation.
Which documents should I have ready?
A valid ID or passport, a recent certificate of conduct or criminal record extract, your CV and any diplomas or course certificates.
How soon will I hear back?
You get a confirmation straight away. Within a few working days we contact you personally for an intro or trial shift.
