About Dries Roelvink
Andries 'Dries' Roelvink (Amsterdam, 1959) is a Dutch singer who grew up in the Jordaan, where his mother Alie recorded with artists including Willy Alberti and Johnny Jordaan. He played a few seasons for FC Amsterdam's reserve team before winning a talent contest at Rembrandtplein in 1985 and devoting himself to singing. A record deal followed two years later, and in 1996 he gave his first performance at Theatre Carré. He became nationally famous through reality series such as 'Ik ben Dries' and an ANWB commercial featuring yellow swim trunks. His autobiography 'Dries' was published in 2023.
